Facts on Fiber

We’re giving you the facts on fiber. Join us and our registered dieticians on Thursday, April 13 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. as they lead a class on fiber and its importance to our diets.

Dietary fiber is the indigestible portion of food primarily derived from plants. A higher-fiber diet has been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels and prevent constipation. High-fiber foods also tend to contain more nutrients and fewer calories, are digested more slowly, and help us feel full sooner.
